Michael Hargis Bio

Fascinated from a very young age with the sounds of all types of music, Michael Hargis has learned that he has a wonderful talent and sound all his own.

With an incredible voice range, Michael performs country, fifties, love ballads, and of course, those old standards. He has shared the stage with Chubby Checker, The Drifters, and The Oak Ridge Boys, and entertained for movie moguls shooting films in Arizona. Michael spends most of his winter months performing in Arizona and Southern California, but spends equal time in the Pacific Northwest including Oregon, Washington, Utah, Montana and Wyoming. He performed for the Masonic Family Camping Rally in Moses Lake, WA, the Montana State Samboree in Butte, and then he was off to six performances at the first annual Great North American RV Rally in Gillette, Wyoming. Michael entertained at the Bounders Rally in Victorville, California and the Airstream National Hobo Rally in Blythe, California.

Sometimes Michael has been referred to as the Chameleon because of his ability to express the distinctive style and essence in his renditions of several super stars' top hits. Kenny Rogers makes a debut, followed closely by Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, or maybe Frank Sinatra. You will know that it's Michael Hargis however because of the strong, clear quality and perfect tone of his voice. His interpretation of love songs is what a man would like to say and a woman would like to hear.

His first album released in 1998, Chameleon Moods, features the most requested songs from his performances during his first year on tour. Michael's second album released in 1999, Panning For Gold, represents a variation in content and mood and features primarily Country-Western songs.

When a song moves him, his range of emotion and enduring passion enable him to sing it in such a way that he moves others. Michael is always searching for new challenges and creative ways to maintain excitement in his performances. Costume changes and light humor go along with the magic on stage to enhance a dynamic and audience-friendly show.

Serving in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, as well as performing during off-duty hours at local night-clubs and dinner cruise ships, Michael perfected not only his singing but his people skills. His friendly attitude and energy are contagious and soon put everyone at ease. Every performance, according to Michael, is the most important "gig" of his life and it is apparent to all.
